Quantum Engineer - (full-time)

Assignment description

As a quantum engineer, you will developing our proprietary quantum diagnostics software using our cryogenic test facilities. As a Quantum Engineer, you will have close interaction with our experimental physicists and customers to understand the requirements and iterate on the user experience.

Required set of skills & experiences:

We are looking for a motivated candidate that has a background in quantum physics, quantum information processing and/or software engineering. For this position we require that you have:

  • Knowledge and experience in quantum physics, quantum information processing and software engineering.

  • Experienced with software engineering best practices (version control (git), documentation (sphinx), test-driven development, code-reviews, etc.).

  • Experience with Python development.

  • Experience with common scientific Python libraries (e.g., scipy, numpy, matplotlib, jupyter, etc.) is considered a plus but not required.

  • Familiarity with the Dutch language is considered a plus, but not required.

Cryo Engineer - (full-time)

Assignment description

As a cryo engineer, you will be maintaining and operating our cryogenic test facilities that is used to test and develop our quantum diagnostic tools. You will have close interaction with our experimental physicists and quantum engineers to understand the requirements and iterate on improving our products.

Required set of skills & experiences:

We are looking for a motivated candidate that has a background in cryogenic engineering. For this position we require that you have:

  • Knowledge of cryogenic techniques below 4 Kelvin: Pulse tubes, 1K pot, (dilution) fridges, etc.

  • Experience with dilution refrigerators and can operate and fix them independently.

  • Experience with vacuum techniques, and associated pumps, pressure gauges, etc.

  • Eperience with the development and necessary heat calculation for cold fingers, radiation shields, and thermal links at temperatures near absolute zero.

  • Teamworking skills and an ability to work in a self-reliant way are a must.

  • Familiarity with the Dutch language is considered a plus, but not required.

Microwave Engineer - (full-time)

Assignment description

As a microwave engineer, you will be working on Quantum Systems, our product line of systems that accelerate the quantum technology development of our customers. You will be responsible for system architecture design, test and validation and will work in close interaction with our system engineers, software developers and customers.

Required set of skills & experiences:

We are looking for a motivated candidate that has a background in has a background in control electronics and microwave engineering. For this position we require that you have:

  • Skilled in handling room-temperature control electronics.

  • Practical experience with RF/µWave (subsystem) designs and use of test/measurement/cable equipment.

  • Knowledge of basic performance characteristics for generating RF/µWave signals like phase and amplitude noise, noise figure, intermodulation, (IQ)modulation techniques, up/down-conversion, etc. is also relevant.

  • Operational knowledge of Python for instrument control.

  • Teamworking skills and an ability to work in a self-reliant way are a must.

  • Familiarity with the Dutch language is considered a plus, but not required.

Software Engineer - UX focus (full-time)

Assignment description

As a software engineer with a focus on UX, you will be working on both Quantify, the open-source platform for controlling experimental physics, and our proprietary quantum diagnostics software. You will be responsible for improving our live data-visualization and setting up dashboards as well as for creating interactive reports containing characterization data. As a UX-focused Software Engineer, you will have close interaction with our experimental physicists and customers to understand the requirements and iterate on the user experience.

Required set of skills & experiences:

We are looking for a motivated candidate that has a background in software engineering and/or web-development. For this position we require that you have:

  • Knowledge and experience in software engineering

  • Experience with data-visualization frameworks such as Dash/Plotly, Bokeh or similar.

  • Experienced with software engineering best practices (version control (git), documentation (sphinx), test-driven development, code-reviews, etc.).

  • Experience in JavaScript development.

  • Experience with Python development.

  • Experience with JupyterLab widgets and/or AngularJS is considered a plus, but not required.

  • Experience with common scientific Python libraries (e.g., scipy, numpy, matplotlib, jupyter, etc.) is considered a plus but not required.

  • Familiarity with the Dutch language is considered a plus, but not required.
